Flexible-Seating Classroom Rules
In a flexible seating classroom, students must select a seat when they work best!
If a student recognizes they’re becoming distracted in a particular seat, they have the freedom to move to a different seat!

Consequences are determined based on the severity of individual situations.

Be Respectful
- Do not touch other students’ materials
- Treat the furniture with respect (no throwing pillows, no standing on furniture, etc.)
- If a student is sitting in a designated area first, do not take their seat
- Do not talk while someone else is talking (teacher or peer)
- Talk to each other with respect- there is absolutely, positively ZERO TOLERANCE for yelling at/ raising your voice at a peer or your teacher
- ZERO TOLERANCE for whining, tattling, and arguing
Be Responsible
- Make sure your homework is complete every day
- Keep track of your supplies
- Come to class prepared
- Turn in lost items if found
- Do not damage furniture or other items that do not belong to you
- Take care of your belongings
- Keep classroom looking nice- put things back where you got them
- Chose a seat where YOU LEARN BEST! (If there is someone next to you that you know will distract you, OR are sitting in a seat where you know it will be hard for you to focus, be proactive and move)- YOU are responsible for YOUR education!
- Transitioning/ getting materials from lockers should take no longer than ONE MINUTE.
Be Safe
- Do not throw things
- No running in the classroom
- Do not stand on furniture (desks, futon, etc.)
- Keep your hands & feet to yourself
